This week in Kindergarten we worked on practicing our greetings and emotions vocabulary. First, we did a whole-class activity where we asked each other one at a time ¿Cómo estás? and then students answered based on a picture card. They did a great job remembering their emotion words!
Several classes were also able to play a greetings board game to practice the expressions Hola, Buenos Días, Buenas Noches, and Adiós. The kids had a blast!

This week we have been learning how to answer the question ¿Cómo estás? (How are you?) in Spanish. We've learned 5 different words that we can use to express how we're feeling:
bien = good así-así = okay mal = bad feliz = happy triste = sad We also learned a movement that goes with each vocabulary word. Have your child say the words for you and show you the movements too! For a fun way to practice these vocabulary words at home, look at pictures of people in a book or magazine and have your child say the Spanish word that matches how the person is feeling. Or, you can give the child a situation in English and then ask them ¿Cómo estás? (koh-moh eh-stahs) For example: You just kicked the winning goal in your soccer game. ¿Cómo estás? See if they can come up with some situations for you too! Hola! This week in Spanish class we learned and practiced different ways to greet someone in Spanish:
This week we practiced the words gracias (thank you) and de nada (you're welcome). We did an activity where we passed an object around a circle and said the words to each other to show our good manners. We also sang along to this song from one of my favorite movies. The kids had a blast singing along and saying "de nada" just like Maui! |
