We have been having a lot of fun starting out the year in Spanish class! The Kindergarteners have all been very enthusiastic about learning Spanish and are doing a great job so far. We have spent time this past week learning some Spanish and also how things work in Spanish class.
First, we were introduced to the words for several colors in Spanish, since that's how our tables are labeled in the classroom. We learned: Azul Rosado Verde Amarillo Rojo Azul Claro Have your child tell you which is his/her table! Then, we learned the attention signal that Señora Deprez uses in class. When she needs our attention, she will call out: ¿Qué pasa, calabaza? And we will respond: Nada, nada limonada. See if your child can show you what this sounds like at home!

We have had a great first week of Spanish! First, we learned the word Hola and used it to greet each other. Then, we learned how to introduce ourselves in Spanish using the phrase Me llamo. We made nametags in Spanish and took turns using the phrase to introduce ourselves to the rest of the class. Here is a fun song I played for the students this week to introduce the concept of introducing yourself in Spanish. Enjoy! |
