This week, we've been finishing up our family unit. As a final project, students are choosing one family member and introducing him or her using se llama, describing him or her using es, and saying what he or she likes or dislikes using le gusta.
Our next mini-unit is going to be about la selva amazónica - the Amazon Rainforest. One class was able to begin the unit this week, and the rest of the classes will be starting next week. Our main focus will be on the animales that live in la selva. We'll be describing their sizes using the words grande, mediano, and pequeño, and also talking about what color they are. For extra practice at home, see if your child can tell you some of the names of the animals. Since we'll be talking a lot about colors, you could also see if your child can tell you the color of things in your home in Spanish. colors: rojo verde anaranjado azul amarillo morado negro rosado blanco (white) café
